With the early colonists bringing cocoa to the new world, Americans immediately developed a sweet tooth for chocolate and eventually that wonderful product known as “fudge.”

The making of fudge hasn’t really changed, but to the people who make it, the care and process is unique to anyone who makes this heavenly product.

Here at the Outer Banks Fudge Company , the process begins by using old fashioned copper kettles. Each batch is slowly cooked over an open flame, stirred with real maple paddles, and poured by hand. Our cooks take a great deal of pride in their 80 year old recipe in order to give our customers a fudge that keeps ‘em coming back for more … year after year.
